about
This song is a dissatisfaction with everything that keeps me from more clearly seeing what matters in life. Things continue to crowd our minds and distract us from the Way, Truth, and Life that God is revealing to us. It is also both an acknowledgment that we desperately need more of God's love and a plea for Him to give us more faith.
lyrics
I'm in a sea of
All that I dream of
They're coming in and going out
Into a big flood
And I'm a big rug
Under the feet of
Another thought, another hope
Another reason
But here's the problem
See, they're not stopping
They're all around me waging war
Until I pick one
But if I pick one
Will it fill my cup?
Or will it hurt and keep me burning
'Til I'm dried up?
It seems the more I live the more I'm cheating
I want to learn to love but I'm so greedy
Truth, truth
I pick something up, and get nothing
Truth, truth
I need something more to believe in
Cause I know nothing about love
But all I know is I want more
Truth, truth
I give up, so won't you give...
Wait
I'm feeling something
But it's just a moment
And when it leaves
It will remind me that I'm choking
But if I'm choking
Where does the rope lead?
Oh can you show me?
Can you hear me?
Can you help me?
Truth, truth
I pick something up, and get nothing
Truth, truth
I need something more to believe in
Cause I know nothing about love
But all I know is I want more
Truth, truth
I give up, so won't you give me something?
It seems the more I live the more I'm cheating
I want to learn to love but I'm so greedy
I want to know you're there but I keep sinking
Will you please remind me why I'm breathing?
Truth, truth
I pick something up, and get nothing
Truth, truth
I need something more to believe in
Cause I know nothing about love
But all I know is I want more
Truth, truth
I give up, so won't you give me something?
